Transcendent Fusion Super Saiyan Gogeta

The Fusion Dance is a piece of lore from that Dragon Ball franchise that has always fascinated me. In my opinion, it is way cooler than Potara (even if Potara does create a stronger fusion). So, when “Dragon Ball Super: Broly” was released in theaters this year and Gogeta was made cannon, I thought it was the coolest thing since sliced bread. What blew me away even more was when Super Saiyan Gogeta transformed into Super Saiyan Blue (Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan) Gogeta.

Super Saiyan Gogeta (Pre-Transformation)

This card came to Global this past February alongside a Super Saiyan Broly Card from the movie. Gogeta is a dual category leader for “Movie Heroes” and “Fusion,” giving 3 ki and 170% ATK to both, and 150% HP and DEF to the first, 130% to the latter. His passive gives himself 100% ATK and DEF. It also allows him to be effective against all types and gives him 25% to evade (dodge) enemy attacks. So, as-is, he is a pretty good card, but it gets better.

Super Saiyan God SS Gogeta (Post-Transformation)

After 5 turns, Super Saiyan Gogeta transforms into Super Sayian God Super Saiyan Gogeta (“Gogeta Blue” for short). After transforming, his boost to self becomes 130%, his chance to evade becomes 50%, and he is guaranteed to perform a critical hit.

His categories are as follows:

  • Fusion
  • Realm of Gods
  • Transformation Boost
  • Movie Heroes
  • Super Saiyan (this category is JP-only for now)

One of the best things about this card is that he does not share his name with the older, but still good, “Super Gogeta” card, so you can use them on the same team.

Due to all of these things, Super Saiyan Gogeta is great to use on many teams and in many scenarios.
